Roland VK-8m Arrives

One day last week I suddenly remembered I was sorta looking for a Roland VK-8m so I finally had a real organ module with drawbars and a good Leslie emulation. So I went to ebay and did a search and found one right away. Sent a message asking if he would include Canada as a shipping destination, and bought it, all within about 10 minutes. It arrived yesterday (no thanks to UPS) and wow, is it amazing!! Really nice sounding!! Once again my favorite new instrument!

The only downside that I have found so far is that there is no jack for a footswitch to control the Leslie speed. That kind of sucks but I’ve solved it for now by putting the module near my right arm (the only place I could find for it anyway!) so I just move my arm over the D-beam and it changes the speed.

I may be motivated to do a prog rock song very soon!!

Also, I am happy to report that as of 2 weeks ago my OB-8 has had all the electrolytic capacitors changed so it should be fairly safe for a while!

I started working on a new song this week and have plans to go back and finish off 2-3 older songs that are fairly close to completion. I’m still very happy with all the songs I’m working on right now and think my next CD will show a HUGE improvement of the last one!
