New Music

I am always working on new music but I’m pretty slow. I do have 2 new CDs in the works though and hopefully they will be released in the next year.

Welcome to my website!

This is a central location with blog posts about my synthesizers and guitars, as well as links to music and photos. Sorry about having to sign up to post comments but without that I get thousands of spam posts every day.

More Information Coming Soon!

More New Modules Including Freqshift!!

June 22, 2014 by admin

More new modules arriving! I wish I had more time to use them! The system has grown a lot in 6 months.

So far my favorite is the Audio Damage Freqshift. Fantastic Frequency Shifter module that works will on external signals as well as internal stuff. Very unique sounds! I can see using it on a lot of different sounds.

I still have 2 more buffered multiples on order and I’m not sure what I should get next. I think I’ll grab the Doepfer Wasp filter, and I’d really like an Arp filter from AM Synths but it seems to be hard to get those. I might think about the Intellijel Metropolis sequencer but I’m not sure how much use I’ll get out of it.

Also the new Intellijel Atlantis module, a big synth voice module that emulates an sh-101 looks mighty interesting, although I’d really only need the filter.

I’m also happy because I finally hooked up my new UPS so now all my gear is on battery backup which hopefully will protect it better from the weird power brownouts we get here.

Also I should note that we just had a very weird week here in Toronto due to an Ice storm last Saturday night. Transformers were exploding all over the city and my power went out at 1am.

The sky was filled with blue and orange flashes all night long. It was pretty scary because it meant there were a LOT of repairs to do and it might be a while before we got power back.

Tree Branch Down in Toronto Ice Storm 2013

Branches were covered with heavy ice and came down on a lot of power lines and sidewalks. This tree (below) lost a couple of huge branches and you can see that all the branches on top sheered off as well.

In addition, we got snow on Christmas day which, although looked great, weighed the branches down even more!

And it definitely looked incredible looking down at a city that appeared to be made of crystal for a couple of days!!

It was 3 days before my power came back on. It was a full 7 days before some friends got their power back and as of today, 8 days later, many people still have no power. They said about 300,000 customers had no power at the peek, but you have to remember that a customer is just one bill. A house usually contains 2-5 people but that’s one customer. Our condos have around 3000 people but that’s still just one customer. SO I estimate well over 1 million people in the dark last Sunday and most having to deal with that for 2-5 days.

So, next time I hear we are getting freezing rain I will be running out and buying candles, stocking up on food, filling my car with gas, recharging all batteries and anything else I can think of! It was a pretty horrific time. You can’t imagine the boredom when you have no power. There is literally NOTHING to do!! We sat here feeling the temperature slowly dropping and wondering how long it would be. So extra special thanks to all the hydro workers getting it all back online! We really appreciate it!!
