03/07/2006 NEW SONG! BUT... not mine. This is Palladio I Allegretto by Karl Jenkins. Cool classical piece that I decided to try redoing entirely with synthesizers like Tomita or Wendy Carlos. I got really sick of hearing it over and over (as usual) and I kept adding more instruments to it, but I think in the end it turned out ok! I also got a new pedal board recently. The Boss GT-8. This thing replaces EVERYTHING and much much more!!! AWESOME piece of equipment!!! 10/11/2004 NEW SONG!!! WOOOO! Well the mood finally struck me to use all this gear Im surrounded by, and I wrote this new song I called Aye Chihuahua I was watching a german movie called Princess and the Warrior, done by the same director who did Run Lola Run, and starring the same girl, Franka Potente. Im pretty sure the music was done by the same guy too cause I hear some stuff from Run Lola Run in this movie. Anyway, I always loved some of the sounds in that music and especially a bass sound I heard, so I decided to try to do something with that kinda sound. It turned out I didnt even try at first to get that sound, I just came up with the first 2 notes in my head, and thats what I recorded. Then I added more and more bass parts on top of that, eventually plugging the bass into my guitar setup and using the Wah pedal to get a cool trebly sound, and added a few more parts. I started Sunday Oct 10th around noon, and finished about 6pm on the 11th. Not a musically special song, but lots of fun to play and finally got to record the new Wolfgang and tiny bit with the Tele too. Hopefully I can get back into a regular writing mode now and get some stuff done this winter! 08/04/2003 I added a new song, Mercury, a few weeks ago. I got inspired after seeing Venus Hum open for The Blue Man Group and wrote this a few days later. Today, I added a link to pictures Ive been taking with my new Olympus C-750uz. Finally I have a camera with an optical zoom and full manual control like (or similar to) my old SLR. Its great to be able to be creative with photography again. Most of these pictures are unretouched beacuse I wanted to show how great the camera is. SarsStock news: Well, what can I say? It was amaaaaazing! 450,000 people at one HUGE concert. I saw The Guess Who, Rush, AC/DC and The Rolling Stones. I have a bunch of pictures and I'll try to get some scanned and posted soon! |
04/20/2003 Hmmmmmm! Having been updating this thing much, have I?? Well, thats cause I havent been doing much! Its been a hellova winter here in Toronto and its still cold most of the time (ok, 21c today, but dropping back down to ZERO and flurries forecast for tuesday!!!@) and I mostly just lie on the couch recovering from work. But I just added the new poem and thought Id update this page too. Ive also added Dream Fuel since my last update. Im working on more new songs but they're coming along slooooooooooowly. Im just too tired most of the time to work on them. I also recently added a new little synth to my collection, a korg O5R/W. Older little synth but it has some cool sounds and is inspiring me a bit so it's definitely been a worthwhile addition. Unfortunately Im out of inputs in my 2 mixers and need to look at getting a 32 channel board..... AFTER I pay off some of what I already owe! Music is mostly OUTGOING cash for me. Not much incoming! Thanks to everyone who has listened and emailed their compliments! That helps a lot! :) Oh, and for Rush fans, The Enima Within posted this in AMR (Rush newsgroup). If you like Rush and have a sense of humour, this is hilarious!! |
01/18/2003 Well, things are still fairly quiet here. I picked up a new Bass Pod to give me a wider range of bass guitar sounds, and a new synth called the MicroKorg. This thing is incredible! Its really got me interested in writing again and I just might start that today! I did put together a demo of this instrument and linked it to the home page, but now I think Im gonna get more serious about writing again. Ive also added a Boss OD-20 digital distorion for some cool new guitar sounds, and an MXR Supercomp compressor to give me smoother clean guitar sounds and more sustain at times. People seem to be finding my site and the tell me they like the music, so I think its time to get some new stuff on there! |
08-08-2002 Wow! Not much happening here eh?? Well Monday I saw a concert here called Area2 which included Bowie and Moby, who, of course, were very cool! But it also included something called The Blue Man Group, and maaaaaaan I LOVED it! I HIGHLY recommend this show! Its percussion based rock music with lotsa funny and otherwise entertaining things going on! I happened to have a listen to an older song I did called The Jungle which sounds a tiny bit like them (well, not a lot, but lotsa drums anyway) and decided to redo it a bit. Ill put it up on here as soon as it's done. For now Ive decided to make some free MP3s available and chances are you've already seen them on the home page. Enjoy! 9-16-2001 Well, I got a copy of the cd last week and listened to the whole thing. Sounds good. Graphics look ok too. So its ready to go! The ony thing is... this isnt a good time to do much with it. Good thing I said I wanted to officially release it 10-01-01, cause I think I'll have to wait for the world to calm down a bit before I do any promoting. But at least its there. Its a good feeling to have a finished CD FINALLY for sale. Woo. Too bad everything else thats going on is so depressing. |
9-11-2001 What a day. There havent been many days like this in my lifetime. The Shooting of Reagan The Shooting of John Lennon The Death of John Bonham and breakup of Led Zeppelin The Challenger Explosion The Tornado that went through Barrie Ontario and killed 12 people, just a few miles north of where I was standing watching the amazing thunderstorm may 31st, 1985. The death of Princess Diana Maybe a few more I cant think of right now... But this is the biggest. 2 planes went into the world trade towers in New York... and the buildings collapsed. Then a plane went into the Pentagon. Then later a plane crashed in a field in pennsylvania. All 4 planes were commercial airliners that had been hijacked. I just cant imagine the horror... the people on the planes... the people in the towers.... I watched as the 2 towers collapsed live on tv.... I really cant put any feelings into words. I just wonder if World War 3 isnt following close behind. |
8-20-2001 MP3.com screws up constantly. Many problems uploading songs. Now, I try to create a cd and cant! It duplicates song titles when I add them to the cd layout. Tech support says "Yeah we know. We're working on it". Great. So the test cd is delayed again. I hope to create the cd, get one shipped to me for inspection of the artwork, then start pre-sales and promotion in September. Then, have the official release date as October 1st, just cause that would be a cool date! 10/01/01. Seeeeee? All ones and zero's!! ooOOOOooo!! |
