Korg M3-M Woes

Well the strange buzzes and dropouts I’ve been getting with my Korg M3-m for the last couple of years came to an end a few days ago when it died. I figured all along it was a power supply problem and that was confirmed when I opened it up to check the voltages. It turned out it had a very different power supply than most synths!

It’s basically a laptop power supply crammed right inside of it! At first I thought that was kind of cheap but now I don’t mind so much because it makes for a cheap and fast repair! $35 later it’s back up and running. I just hope these are good supplies and that I wont be doing this every year or two!

Anyway, all is fixed and happy now! Not much energy tonight though, so I’ll get back to work tomorrow night.

But WOW, am I loving this doepfer modular!!!!
